14th March 2019 – Zone Chair’s Address to Nairobi Centre Devotees

My Humble Pranam to the divine lotus feet of our Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

Respected Trustees, Centre Presidents (Nairobi and Mombasa), Devotees, Brothers and Sisters:

Om Sai Ram!

It is indeed an honour and an inordinate privilege to be here and address this August Gathering.

I am pleased to observe that your unconditional love and unparalleled affections have the gravitational pull which propels me to undertake regular visits to SSIO Kenya. The underlying feeling of elation is indescribable. Nonetheless, I would like to highlight few marvelous facts which I believe will serve as food for thought for this August Gathering.

Incessant Quest for Excellence and Interminable Pursuit of Spiritual Bliss has contoured Sathya Sai Nairobi Centre as one of the Pristine Spiritual Haven in Kenya. Unwavering Commitment of the Trustees and Administrative Officials have enabled sustenance of this institution for years in succession. We comprehend that, by the divine grace of Sai Baba – the Trustees will continue their relentless efforts for All-Inclusive Participative Membership cutting across religions, faiths and ethnicity.

Swami taught us that through steady faith one can attain divinity. I call upon all SSIO Kenya officials to have faith in their own Self. Development of self-confidence and self-satisfaction shall be undertaken as a continuous process. We can only be satisfied when our conscience indicates from deep within that we have sincerely served the objectives of humanity in line with SSIO guidelines and principles.

We extol God as omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent, but, we ignore his presence in ourselves. Some of us describe the attributes of God and proclaim him to be such and such, but, these are own guesses and the reflections of our own predilections and preferences. The religion of humanity is the sum and substance of all faiths, for there is only one religion and that is the religion of Love.

One of the basic quality every member of the Sathya Sai International Organisation should have is firm faith in God. This faith must be based on the awareness that God is Omnipresent. The Divine pervades everything in the Universe. Whether one accepts this fact or not, the truth is, evidence of the presence of God can be found wherever one turns.

It is not possible for this boundless creation to be brought into existence by man, if there had been no Divine Principle behind it. It is the inherent, all-pervasive power of the Divine that reveals itself in numerous ways. No one can probe the mystery of the power of the Divine or grasp its infinite magnitude. It is with faith that one should take up social service. Society is our primary concern. The Divine is manifest in society.

Given the size and dimensions of SSIO activities undertaken in Kenya, one can easily comprehend that the road ahead is challenging and exciting simultaneously. I am sure that SSIO Kenya Team will undertake all judicious, reasonable and logical steps to achieve the objectives set out in it’s charter. We remain grateful for the endeavours of SSIO Kenya officials who have put in their heart and soul in the organisation’s affairs. While we appreciate their superfluous efforts, we acknowledge that we would have not been standing here without their focused and determined pursuit of divine glory. We hope and believe that Team Kenya will continue the pursuit of excellence and will raise the bar higher.

My interaction with the team has led me to believe that their insatiable enthusiasm and zeal will surpass past achievements whereby SSIO Kenya will charter a distinct roadmap to glorious heights with All Inclusive Societal participation and development.

I would like to sum it up with Swami’s quote on happiness – “Strive for the happiness, the joy of all others – as earnestly as you strive for your own. Strive for the peace of the world – as diligently as you strive for your own. That is true divinity and true humanity” May Baba continue to bless and preserve You All !
